Last Sunday of February

Can you believe it was the last Sunday of February? Did we miss seeing you this morning in worship? I hope not, but if we did, I will say you missed a powerful word from God this morning, and beginning next week, we begin a multi-part message series in the epistle of James, that even while I am preparing it, I am being affected by it. I hope you are ready for a challenge, because we are beginning a journey to Discover a Faith that Works! I hope to see you next week.

Also mark you calendars, March 1, we begin a church-wide bible reading program. If you have your own and you are faithful to it, then keep it up, but if not, then join the rest of us as we choose either a Read the Bible in a year, or in 3 years. This is a way of holding one another accountable to reading and studying what should be the most important guide to life. Will you join us. Either pick up a copy in the church foyer, or join us on faithlife.com and look for the UBC Macomb group and join us. There you will find tools to help with the reading plan, if you are tech savvy.

Also mark your calendars, Amy and I will be settling on a house this week (so we will need all the strong backs available soon…more to come on this) so I have decided that in 2 weeks, Sunday, March 16th, on Sunday Night at 6:00 pm we will be beginning a study entitled, “Seeking Answers for Today from the Old Testament.” This will be a discussion study seeking to answer questions like, “Is the Earth 60 Billion Years old? Perhaps 65 Billion? Was there really a global flood? If we are all from one place, then why are there different races? Why does science deny the Bible or Does it?

We will be using the same Scriptures that Christ himself used to answer these questions and more. I hope to see you there, and bring a friend.

Lastly, if you have been away for a while, there is no better time to come back and check out some of the new things that are going on…and this is only the beginning. As we said this morning in worship…”It’s not like it used to be,” but that doesn’t have to be a bad thing. Come be a part of what God has in store at UBC!

In Christ,

Pastor Rich
